KATE'S BLANK BOOKS

North Carolina artist KATHY VINCENT, a longtime friend of PRB&M's, has honored the firm by allowing us to offer a small selection of the bijoux watercolorartist's books / blank books she has lately been creating. Havingoriginal paintings or painting fragments as their covers (often signed), they are roughly 4.25"x5.5" in size, come in two styles (“Buttonhole / Longstitch” and “Coptic”), and have varying numbers of pages.

Each little book is unique in the literal sense of that word:
its watercolor covers are unlike any other's.

Great gifts, these books can be used for friendship books, for commonplace books, for task lists or general “to-do's,” and for special-occasion diaries or guest books; as the latter, they are just the right size to become pleasant recuerdos or souvenirs of particular parties, visits, vacations, and events.

One has found its metier as a pleasant thing for its owner simply to have handy to look at during trying business meetings!

Take your choice from the selection below, subject to prior sale and while our basketful lasts. We can't “reorder” these from Kathy/Kate; they will come again, if they come to us, solely as the artist's muse may be moved . . .

Buttonhole / Longstitch Books

The covers of the buttonhole / longstitch books are all 140# watercolor paper, mostly Arches ColdPressed or Rough. A few are other brands of watercolor paper, but all are 100% cotton rag and acid-free. The pages are either rag bond papers (100% cotton, 20-, 24-, 32-pound) or some fun “neon” bond papers, folded and torn. The number of pages per book (usually 60–80) varies according to the weight of the paper used for pages and the thickness of the book's spine.
