The frontispiece features a detailed wood-engraved view of the asylum, signed J.F. Sullivan. The work ends with the usual facts, figures, and tables.
Provenance: A slip bound-in reads, "Compliments of Superintendent. Copies of reports or other documents on the subject of Insanity, solicited in exchange."
Publisher's brown wrappers printed in black; rear wrapper detached, light age-toning to wrapper edges, spine rubbed with front wrapper pulling slightly from binding, minor chipping and small closed tear to rear joint, a bit brittle.
