Beautiful portfolio of prayers and meditations in Hebrew and English, commissioned and printed in honor of Deborah Levinson's Bat Mitzvah. Mark Loeb designed the attractive Hebrew calligraphy. The portfolio is illustrated with a mounted original painting (acrylic with pastel, on Arches paper) by Natvar Bahvsar, an original lithograph by Leonard Baskin (printed in an edition of 119), and reproductions of an ink and wash drawing of Levinson, done by Alex Katz; Red Grooms's double-page “Torah Procession”; and a Baskin drawing.
This is numbered copy 5 of 108 printed, signed on the contents list by Grooms and Katz; the Bahvsar painting and Baskin lithograph are also signed.
Publisher's textured tan Indian Tassar silk–covered boards with cloth ties. Faint spotting to endpapers and one printed overlay, otherwise a clean and lovely copy. (33513)
